As life gets a little more normal each day, we’re starting to think about things like hosting friends and family in our homes again. While you may have focused on your personal comfort spaces over the last 18 months or so, it might be time to spruce up those guest bedrooms with some modern farmhouse bedding and décor.
We get asked pretty regularly about adding modern farmhouse bedding and boho bedding and we spent a lot of time tracking down some really fun additions to the collection. These new sets are going to take your modern farmhouse bedroom décor up a few notches!
The first thing we consider is comfort, of course, as you want your guests to feel at home and not like they’re in some impersonal, stuffy hotel room, right?
You’re not going to see this lovely, rose-colored queen or king coverlet with two shams at Holiday Inn. The diamond and square pattern on the coverlet is really charming, and the woven shams complement it so well. The queen set could work for your guest bedroom (and you might even consider the king size for your own bedroom).
Here is a classic neutral set in grey in both queen and king sizes. There’s a handsome paisley design and each set comes with a luxurious coverlet and two shams. The neutral color works well with pretty much any color you have on the walls. Imagine adding some accessories for pops of color on the dresser or chifforobe. It doesn’t take many items to really dress up the bedroom before guests arrive!
I know you Rose Buds are going to adore the stitching in this neutral grey collection. Add a pop of color with some fun pillows and you’re set.
You’ve gotta have some unique pillows on the bed for your guests to “ooh” and “ah” at, too. Jordyn features taupe, pink and black weaves on cream with accented tassels and a whole lot of character. It’s a little bohemian and a lot of fabulous. (The insert is included.)
We’re loving the pom pom tassels on this nubby ivory Naomi pillow. It’s perfect for the centerpiece of the bed and is small enough to lay nicely on a wooden chair, too. (The cotton pillow case comes with the insert.)
This amazing charcoal-colored lumbar pillow has the delightful feel and look of linen, though it’s actually all cotton (and includes the poly insert). It’s perfect for bedrooms that have a heirloom style. It’s an ample size but also works well on larger pieces of furniture, too. It's bold but it won't take over the room.
Now that you’ve got the bedding taken care of, it’s time to find one or two décor accessories that will really make your modern farmhouse bedroom décor pop. This reclaimed wood chain link has a great tone that will look so good on a small bedside table or on the dresser.
We love finding pieces with multiple uses. Here's one for the Rose Buds who appreciate a natural, boho style. This woven piece can be used to hold a pot or planter, some artwork - or how about this, use it as a small end table in the guest bedroom! Sometimes you want a new piece but you're limited on space. This woven, natural piece doesn't take up a lot of room but it makes a great statement.
Baskets are super versatile. They can be used to hide clutter in the bedroom or showcase seasonal faux greenery. This woven kans grass basket is a great size for a lot of items. Use your imagination. How about a collection of yarn balls in a variety of colors?
Are you excited to host overnight guests again? I hope these modern farmhouse bedding options give you a lot of fun ideas. And once you spiff up that guest room, share your ideas with us and the other Rose Buds!
