Finishing touches for a farmhouse with flair

Finishing touches for a farmhouse with flair

The tree is up, the lights are strung and the stockings are hung with care - but your place will look 110% ready for the season with a couple finishing touches here and there.

When Vic and I think about the holidays, we aim to have every aspect of a room covered - figuratively if not literally! Looking for a sprinkle of wintertime magic to add to the abode? Look no further, as we’ve collected some fun, festive items for you - or to share with a loved one as a gift. (Or get one for you and one for them!)

Let’s get prancing into the den or living room! This modern reindeer pillow looks dashing on a sofa, chair - or on Donner and Blitzen. The soft, gray flannel begs to be touched, and the leather appliqued reindeer – in classic reindeer brown – will certainly catch Santa’s eye. Simple, dapper touches like this around the house ensure you’re in for a happy holiday.

Starting to feel the warmth? Well, add some log cabin coziness to your abode with a festive red and white flannel throw – in two styles, striped or in plaid. The red just pops and is sure to catch the eye. Cuddle up on the couch with one – or both styles!

Let’s move onto the dining room and the kitchen. Complete your tablescape with a half dozen of these farmhouse style taper holders. Arrange them with seasonal green garland woven through the handle. Keep them seasonal with some bits and bobs as a final touch, such as ornaments and pine cones for the holidays. Lots of possibilities here!

Here’s something for those on the “nice” list this year! These impeccable hand carved wooden candlesticks are made in India exclusively for our Rose Buds. We worked one-on-one with the crafter to introduce some unique pieces for some seasonal decor. There are five styles to choose from - or get funky and display a few together!

Hand Carved Wooden Candlesticks

We hear from many of you, “Please, more tiered trays!” It’s a challenge to find some unique enough for our Rose Buds, but then this beauty arrived. We said, “Hello, you're ours.”  The handwoven rattan around a sturdy metal frame makes this piece perfect for a modern farmhouse style, great for the holidays or anytime of the year.

We’re loving items crafted with mango wood this season! Take a gander at this woodfire tray to offer some stark contrast to your creamy walls. Just add a hook to hang from the back and you’ve got a striking conversation piece. Consider the functionality, too, as you can place the tray on a countertop or breakfast bar holding some pinecones. Wood gifts are often a pleasant surprise, so keep it in mind as Christmas gets close!

Sleek, black, modern and fab, these food-grade stained boards will make a statement whether just leaning on your counter or used for your next fancy meal. Everyone should have a bit of black in their home and these cutting boards just might “cut it.” These make an amazing gift for that certain someone who’s challenging to shop for.
